PLAYER OF THE WEEK CONTEST
(No banking relationship with American State Bank required) This awards program is open to student athletes playing on varsity football teams at public and private high schools in the market area of American State Bank.
Applications submitted become the property of American State Bank and the American State Bank Advisory Board. American State Bank and their respective affiliates and authorized representatives may, without limitation, in whole and/or part, and irrevocably, use the likeness, biographical information, data, photographs, and any and all information, previously and/or hereafter submitted in conjunction with this program, in any and all media now known or hereafter developed, for editorial, illustration, promotion, advertising, marketing, trade and other similar purposes without further notice or any compensation. By nominating a player, you hereby release, hold harmless, discharge and absolve Steele Holdings, Inc, American State Bank, the American State Bank Advisory Board and their respective successors, assigns, agents, officers and employees, from any and all actions, suits, claims and demands of any kind whatsoever, which your school it heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, had, now have or hereafter may have, by reason of any matter connected in any way with this program, including, but not limited to , the operation of this program, the awarding of the prizes, any loss of damage to any prize, and any action, claim or suit for personal injury or loss or damage to property in connection with the receipt and use of the prize. You have obtained any necessary permission(s) with respect to the submission and any authorization(s) required in conjunction with the use of any photographs and/or information related to a minor.
SELECTIONS WILL BE JUDGED ON THREE CRITERIA:
- Individual performance on the field, including significant statistics from the week's game.
- Contribution to the team's success through their individual leadership abilities.
- Performance off the field of play, including academic success and good community citizenship.
All matters relating to this award program shall be subject to the American State Bank Advisory Board and American State Bank's decision, which shall be final and binding.
Customers, coaches and school administrators can nominate student-athletes for this award by completing the online nomination form at www.asbtx.com
. Nominations will be due by 8:00 p.m. Central Time on Monday following each week's game. In nominating student-athletes, entrants will be required to describe why that player should receive the award and how they embody the program criteria. All information is subject to verification. Submission of false information will result in disqualification. American State Bank and The American State Bank Advisory Board are not responsible for late, lost or misdirected nominations.
The selection process is administered by Tim Haugh and The American State Bank Advisory Board, comprised of 4 American State Bank employees and 1 media representative to determine the weekly winner. All weekly winners are eligible for The American State Bank Football Player of the Year award. There will be one weekly winner chosen from among class 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and private schools, during the regular season, as well as one (from all weekly winners) at the end of the season.
There will be one weekly winner from among Class 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and private school football players. There will be 1 overall winner (one from the weekly winners) selected at the end of the football season. Each weekly winner receives a trophy (as well as the represented school) recognizing their achievements. All weekly award winners will be recognized at a banquet ceremony within a month of the conclusion of the final state championship game. During this ceremony, the player of the year will be announced and will be awarded with the player of the year trophy and a $10,000.00 scholarship to the college or university of their choice. Winners, and the parent/legal guardian of winners who are minors, may be required to sign release forms.
Persons submitting nominations with false or fraudulent intent or content could be eligible for criminal investigation. In addition, persons submitting information not pertaining to Player of the Week information, including stats, game information or quotes on a particular player may also be subject to criminal charges.
